Smart Idea this ...
With over 30 years experience of Professional Dry Cleaning, Meena Patel from Sparkle offers her tips on looking after suits.
1. Avoid streches and strains:
Don’t overload the pockets.
Unbutton your jacket and pull the trousers up a little at the knees
before you sit down.
Never hang the jacket up by the collar loop or hang the collar over
a jacket hook.
2. Avoid creases:
Brush with a clothes brush after taking it off.
Hang it properly on a shaped wooden hanger.
Have it pressed in between cleanings. Rest it for at least one day after wearing.
3. Dealing with stains:
Never try to wash a suit.
Never hot press or rub onto a stain instead show your dry cleaner
the stains that need pretreatment. If not instructed, they may miss
them which can leave a permanent scarring on your suit.
4. Getting it cleaned:
Buy suits that say Professionally dry clean only and get them
cleaned and pressed every five or six wearings.
Make sure that the clean suit is kept within a plastic bag during
collection. Take out from the plastic bag and air it immediately
once at home.
